Weaving Workshop
Nura Gili hosted a Weaving Workshop facilitated by Kobie Mason, an alumnus of UNSW and Nura Gili. It was a fantastic turnout for the first Weaving Workshop in 2023. There were some experienced weavers and also some beginners. It was a great opportunity for everyone to mingle and have a yarn. We welcomed three students from NIDA who attended the workshop and are looking forward to joining us for more workshops in the future.
Keep an eye on the Nura Gili event page for upcoming Weaving Workshops.

Shalom College 50th Anniversary
Recently, Nura Gili staff had the privilege of attending a breakfast to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Shalom College. Speakers included Professor Attila Brungs, Dr Hilton Immerman and Supreme Court Judge and former student Hon Justice Kelly Rees. The long association between Shalom College and Nura Gili was noted, and the numerous First Nations students who have resided at Shalom and benefited from the Shalom Gamarada Scholarship were also acknowledged.

Indigenous Tuition Program (ITP)
While you are planning for Term 2 remember to apply for the ITP. We encourage students to apply for tutoring, however, please be realistic about how likely you are to use the tutoring. If you have not already provided confirmation of identity documents to Nura Gili you may be asked to do so.
Apply for tutoring
Don’t forget you can book a consult room at Nura Gili for your tutoring sessions. You can also utilise the study space in the East Wing, it's usually quieter there.
Note: Only apply if you can commit to attending the scheduled session and don't expect tutors to be available outside of these times. Students who repeatedly cancel at short notice or don't show up may have their tutoring cancelled.
