The Kids' Bridge - Update 26th March 2021

Dear Amy

Preparation work for delivery and installation of The Kids’ Bridge segments is continuing.

Lane closures will be required during normal work hours (Monday to Thursday) next week, at times in one or both directions on Winthrop Avenue. These closures will be outside of peak traffic times, for bridge construction. The speed limit will also be reduced and we encourage road users to please follow all signs and traffic management directions.

April weekend works – Winthrop Avenue closure

From 8pm on Friday, 2 April until 5am on Monday, 5 April, Winthrop Avenue will be closed in both directions between Aberdare Road and Monash Avenue to enable delivery and then lifting of the large bridge segments into place. See map below for detour information.

Another closure will be implemented from 8pm Friday, 16 April to 5am on Monday, 19 April, with the same detours in place.

Pedestrian and cyclist detours and impacts

Pedestrian and cyclist detours will be in place through the work site at all times, please follow the signs and signals in the area or, avoid the area if possible.

Staff pedestrian and cyclist access under Perth Children’s Hospital will be maintained, however, access changes will be in place, separate access information will be circulated for staff.

Work hours and frequency

Outside of these two scheduled closures, normal works hours will apply which are Monday to Saturday, between 7am to 7pm.
