Thank you, Ramona, Bob, Lisa, Katie and Ruth for your leadership! You are a huge part of OONL’s success and we wish you the best! Although this may seem like a lot of transition for one year, the chairs and co-chairs have been longtime active members of their respective committees. The outgoing chairs have prepared them well and I can assure you that we are in great hands!
Last but not least, as I move into the Past-President role, I want to extend my gratitude to Jayne Gmeiner, 2023-24 Past-President, and welcome Chris Young into the President role. Jayne has provided much support and guidance to both myself and the Board over the past six years. She was instrumental in updating our OONL Strategic Plan and providing leadership to the OONL Board amid unplanned transitions over the past two years. We thank her for her many years of service to our Board and the nursing leaders across the state!
I am grateful to have served as your OONL President for the past two years. Thank you for your support and the work that you do every day to ensure excellent care and outcomes for our patients and communities.
I wish you all a happy and healthy 2025,
Melissa Kline, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CENP

Planning has started for the Ohio OONL Legislative Day to be held in the Spring 2025.
The team will work to continue the effort to revise the application criteria for the LPN NCLEX exam for level 5 medics. Shannon Asbach, CNP, MBA, BSN, RN, CNML, Director of Emergency Services and Liberty Inpatient Unit, assumed the role of the L&P Chair on Jan. 1.

Spotlight: Kayla Pfeiffer on the Ohio Organization for Nursing Leaders
"It's been so incredible traveling the United States helping others through innovations, but I have to say, joining my home state with the Ohio Organization for Nursing Leaders teams has to be one of my favorite times of the year," shares Kayla Pfeiffer, Patient Safety Officer & Accreditation Manager at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
Kayla's reflection highlights the significance of being part of OONL, an organization that serves as a catalyst for health care innovation through expert nursing leadership. Whether advancing nursing practices or driving change across Ohio and beyond, OONL members are shaping the future of health care.
As we continue to move forward in advancing nursing leadership, Kayla’s testimonial serves as a reminder of the impact we can make as part of this dynamic organization.
