Welcome Spring with the Legion

Spring is the season for renewal and growth. What better time to visit your local Legion? Get involved in a shared sense of purpose by helping Veterans and supporting your community.
You can help the Legion strengthen communities across Canada by visiting your local Branch to learn how you can get involved in Veterans’ programs in your city.
Legion OSI programs are growing across the country
The Royal Canadian Legion Operational Stress Injury Special Section (Legion OSI) has been hard at work launching two new programs aimed at supporting Veterans.
Their latest initiative, Buddy Check Coffee, is a Veteran peer-run program offering comradeship in a relaxed environment, encouraging Veterans to connect and support each other.
Legion OSI also recently launched Operation VetBuild, a veteran to veteran peer support program that incorporates hobbies like model building to assist Veterans in alleviating symptoms associated with OSIs and PTSD. See how Operation VetBuild has made a difference.
Both programs are free for Veterans, and you do not have to be a Legion member to participate. The programs have been a success and Legion OSI is working to grow the programs across Canada. Legion Branches are invited to host and coordinate the programs for Veterans in their community.

Legion member selected to participate in the Nijmegen Marches
A big congratulations to Legion member and Veteran Joan Cook, our selected Legion representative for the 104th International Four Days Marches Nijmegen. Joan will join the Canadian Armed Forces contingent and tens of thousands of participants from all over the world, walking more than 40 km a day. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for Joan, who has a strong connection to Canada’s military history.

Legion Lager is now in BC
After being released in Ontario, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Legion Lager is now available west of the Rockies.
The Royal Canadian Legion has partnered with Whitewater Brewing Co. to produce a refreshingly crisp, Canadian lager that benefits Veterans with programs and services. Five percent of Legion Lager sales go towards programs that support Veterans, their families and their local community.
With plans to expand nation-wide, Legion Lager can currently be found in many Legion Branches and at retail locations, including beer and liquor stores, grocery outlets, and bars and restaurants.
