Richmond Hill Memorandum of Understanding

 

Richmond Hill Mayor David West and York University President and Vice-Chancellor Rhonda Lenton signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), to set a path forward on shared goals to benefit both Richmond Hill residents and businesses. The MOU will provide a number of new opportunities for the City of Richmond Hill and York University faculty and students with a focus on new research projects that support business and entrepreneurship; new experiential learning opportunities at the City for York University students; professional development and training opportunities for staff within the City; and additional education opportunities for the community. Quad Phase 3 Groundbreaking

 

IIn February, Forum Asset Management and Campus Suites proudly announced the groundbreaking of QUAD Phase 3, the latest phase of its on-campus purpose-built student accommodations at York University. Developed in collaboration with York University Development Corporation, this project builds on the success of QUAD Phases 1 and 2, which have already provided over 1,500 institutional quality beds for students at York’s Keele Campus. Senate approves in principle creation of York U School of Medicine within Faculty of Health

 

York University's Senate has voted in favour of approving in principle the creation of a School of Medicine within the Faculty of Health, a preliminary motion that sets the stage for further consultation and planning. Learn more here.

York U program trains nursing students to meet rising health-care demands

 

As Ontario contends with a nursing crisis, York University’s School of Nursing is offering a unique curriculum to better equip nurses for the chaos and workload of emergency rooms (ERs) and intensive care units (ICUs). Learn more here.

 

York-led research advances diagnostics for hepatitis B

 

York University researchers have developed a new, easy-to-use test for detecting hepatitis B, marking a big step forward in medical diagnostics. 
The test combines an enhanced test strip with a special cartridge for collecting blood from a finger prick, making it more sensitive and user friendly. Learn more here.
