Caring Matters E-Bulletin | August 2025 |
|
|
Meet Lorraine a proud First Nations grandmother, great-grandmother, and carer who has spent her life supporting her family and community.
After years of putting others first, Lorraine felt lost and emotionally drained. Her turning point came through a Carers WA yarning circle, where she rediscovered connection, confidence, and herself.
“I felt like I was in a situation where I didn’t know who I was or where I was going, and it all boils down to the deep depression that I was in, and it was really hard to come out of it” Lorraine shares.

National Carers Week 2025
|
National Carers Week 2025 is just around the corner. We invite you to join us in this important celebration, which will take place from Sunday, 12th October to Saturday, 18th October 2025.
This year’s theme, “You are one, know one, or will be one,” highlights that caring touches us all. With more than 3 million Australians providing support to a family member or friend with disability or physical or mental health challenges, chances are you’re either a carer, know a carer, or will become one at some stage in your life.
We’ve organised activities such as a sector breakfast, Scitech family event, and men’s day out, with more to come.
Registrations will open soon, so save the date and stay tuned for updates.
