You're Invited to the Carers WA Open Day |

Carers WA invites you to our Networking Open Day, a dedicated event for service providers.
This is a great opportunity for service providers to connect with each other, learn about each other’s services and explore ways to collaborate.
Attendees will also have the chance to meet the Carers WA team, gain insights into Carer Gateway, and discover our programs. Plus, enjoy fun activities designed to enhance engagement and networking.

Carers Week Grant and Sponsorships Expressions of Interest
Carers Week is Australia’s celebration of carers and is held annually in the third week of October and will take place from Sunday, 12th to Saturday, 18th October 2025.
Leading up to National Carers Week each year, Carers WA aims to offer not-for-profit organisations and community groups the opportunity to apply for a Community Activity Grant of usually $500 – $800 to host their own activity or event in WA.
Tentative Dates for Applications: - Applications open: June – July 2025

This WA State Election, Carers WA are seeking commitments from political candidates and parties on supporting carers in Western Australia.
We have now written to every Member of Parliament and every election candidate to enquire about their commitment to carers within these five areas and will share any responses on our dedicated webpage.
Members of the public can write to their local Member for Parliament and share what matters to them using an easy to send template.

Do you work with carers who struggle to navigate My Aged Care?
The Carer Wellness at Home Program brings services directly to them, offering in-home emotional support, information and practical assistance.
Through this program, carers can receive:

Young carers aged 16-25yrs are invited to attend a workshop exploring safely revealing parts of their story and sharing their lived experience in such a way that serves their personal purpose.
This workshop is suitable for anyone with lived experience of caring for someone who wishes to disclose experiences to their immediate circle and others with a view to increase awareness and understanding.
When: Tuesday, 18th February | 4.00pm – 7.00pm Where: Carers WA | 182 Lord Street, Perth

Michelle’s journey as a carer opened her eyes to the challenges many face in healthcare and aged care. Balancing full-time work while caring for her mother, she saw gaps in support and had to advocate to ensure her mother’s needs were met.
Determined to create change, she joined the Carers WA Carer Representation Program, using her voice to shape policies and ensure carers are heard by decision-makers.

Expressions of interest are open for carers and for people with lived experience with disability to participate in a co-design workshop.
Participants will help create a platform to facilitate meaningful personal social connections in the context of physical activity and will be compensated for their time ($37.50 per hour) and travel costs to attend co-design sessions.

Carers WA is seeking expressions of interest from carers and former carers for the 2025-2027 membership term of the Carers WA Policy Working Group.
Carers are paid for their attendance and participation in this working group.
