Carer Wellbeing Survey
The National Carer Wellbeing Survey is now open!
Carers Australia has partnered with the University of Canberra to conduct a national survey into the wellbeing of carers and their support services.
If you or anyone you know is a carer – whether your caring role is big or small, long-term or short-term, current or past – they would love to hear more.
Complete the 2024 Carer Wellbeing Survey today and you can enter a draw to win a gift card.
Your feedback will be used to strengthen carer advocacy and shape national policy about the current wellbeing experiences of carers, and how support can be improved for carers across Australia.

Celebrating one year on - Carers Queensland's rainbow email
Our rainbow connection is changing lives - rainbow@carersqld.com.au
In the 12 months since launching our dedicated email channel for LGBTQIA+ participants and carers, Carers Queensland has seen an increase in people from those communities' access to NDIS, community supports, and services.
Over the working week, the rainbow responders receive a variety of requests, including many enquiries about accessing the NDIS or finding community support in their area. A dedicated rainbow responder handles each request, providing information and linkages.
“We're able to provide the rainbow responder service because Carers Queensland is a Rainbow Tick accredited organisation,” said Rebecca Binyon, Carers Queensland's Regional Manager, who helped guide the service's rollout.
“We have a culture of inclusion, of respecting people, of valuing diversity. 14% of our workforce are LGBTQIA+, that's higher than the population base!” Rebecca said.

Do you care for a friend, relative, neighbour, or partner?
You might be an unpaid carer.
Carers provide care in many different ways.
A carer might look after someone 24 hours a day and help with daily activities, or they might look after someone who only needs help some of the time.
Carer Gateway is a free, Australia-wide service for unpaid carers that can help them get the support they need.
Carer Gateway service providers offer supports and services that meet carers' individual needs and circumstances.
For more information call the Carer Gateway on 1800 422 737 between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
Visit the Carer Gateway website by tapping on the link below.

From Venezuela to Queensland: Nathaly’s Caring Journey to a New Life
After moving to Queensland from Venezuela several years ago, mother and carer Nathaly and her family encountered a new set of challenges as they began their new life in Australia.
As the full-time carer of her daughter Laura, who lives with an intellectual disability, Nathaly was faced with the momentous task of finding new Australian schools and establishing new professional therapies and supports for Laura, while trying to learn English as a second language.
At the age of 19, Laura gained access to the NDIS and with the help of Carers Queensland was able to find supports and work towards achieving greater independence as a young adult.
