Everyone belongs at Carers Queensland
Harmony Week (20-26 March 2024) is dedicated to celebrating our multiculturalism and promoting inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone.
Harmony Week includes Harmony Day on Thursday 21 March, which is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Harmony Day is Australia’s national day to acknowledge and showcase the cultural diversity of our workplaces and communities by embracing the theme, 'Everyone Belongs', and to wear orange to show our support.
We serve communities made up of a rich tapestry of cultures.
At Carers Queensland we celebrate diversity and inclusion in all its forms; within our workplace, our carer community, and people with disability from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
We are dedicated to creating a safe and open space where everyone belongs.
Our diverse workforce
Every day we continue to build a safe and inclusive workplace for all our employees.
We are accredited as an Inclusive Workplace by the Diversity Council of Australia with Rainbow Tick and Safeguarding Standard Accreditations.
Ours is a diverse, vibrant community that thrives on the unique perspectives each one of us brings to the table. We currently have 584 employees, of which 32 have identified as Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander and 84 have identified as culturally and linguistically diverse.
We proudly embrace Harmony Week celebrations that foster inclusiveness and respect and acknowledge the valuable contributions of our First Nations and multicultural communities.
During Harmony Week and every day, we strive to create a workplace where individual differences are valued and celebrated.
We are dedicated to making life better in a nation where everyone belongs.
Get Involved!
Celebrate our cultural diversity by living the Harmony Week message 'Everyone belongs' in your workplace, community, school, sporting group, local councils and state governments.
