CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Clinic will add a second member to its Cleveland Clinic Connected Program that allows the hospital systems to share best practices.

The new member is Columbus Regional Health, which serves a 10-county region in southeastern Indiana, the Clinic recently announced in a news release.

Under the program, Columbus Regional Health caregivers can request consultations from Clinic specialists, and take part in educational opportunities at the Cleveland health system to improve patient experience and care, safety and outcomes.

Columbus Regional Health’s flagship facility is the 225-bed not-for-profit Columbus Regional Health in Indiana.

The goal of the Cleveland Clinic Connected program is to build a global network of independent, like-minded, quality-focused organizations that have a positive impact on patient care, the Clinic said.

To join Cleveland Clinic Connected, member hospitals must be aligned with the program’s core tenants, which are safety and quality, continuous improvement and patient experience.

“Our goal with the Cleveland Clinic Connected program is to connect like-minded healthcare systems together and positively impact patients no matter where they live,” Dr. Tommaso Falcone, Cleveland Clinic executive vice president and president for international and emerging markets, said in a statement.

The Clinic asked Columbus Regional Health to become a member, based on CRH’s high performance in quality and safety, the Clinic said. The Clinic is not acquiring the Indiana health system, and no Clinic employees will work at the Indiana hospital, the Clinic said.

Columbus Regional Health is one of two initial members in the United States and the only Indiana health system to be a part of the Cleveland Clinic Connected program. Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, Florida, became the first U.S. member in March 2024.

Two additional Cleveland Clinic Connected members are health systems in Vietnam.
