If you're successful you could receive a guaranteed offer – before you sit your exams. You'll then just need to complete your HSC (or equivalent), and meet any course requirements. You'll also receive exclusive support and can apply for Advantage scholarships based on your soft skills.

You can apply for the Advantage if you are in Year 12, have completed Year 11 and are an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or New Zealand citizen.
This year, we'll have one round of offers. Our most competitive courses do fill, so make sure your application is as strong as possible.
You apply online. You'll need to attach a pdf of your Year 11 results* and tell us three things:
You can preference three courses in your application. If you’re successful, you’ll get an offer in order of your preferences.
*If you're in NSW, you can get your Year 11 results from your Students Online account. Simply go to My Account and select Enrolment details and results. Choose 2023 HSC (Preliminary) in the Currently Viewing drop-down menu and hit Certificates/eRecords to download a pdf. If you attend school in another state or territory, please upload a copy of your final Year 11 school report.
The Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) focuses exclusively on your academic achievements. The Charles Sturt Advantage also considers your soft skills. Plus, it has an exclusive support program for successful students.
Yes. All CSA offers are conditional on you completing your HSC or equivalent. Even though you’ll have your offer to Charles Sturt, we still place immense importance on the studies you will complete in year 12.

Unfortunately not. The Charles Sturt Advantage is only available to Australian citizens and permanent residents, and New Zealand citizens.
You can apply for up to three courses when you fill out your Charles Sturt Advantage application. If you’re successful, you’ll get an offer in order of your preferences. If you’re not successful, don’t stress. We have plenty of admission pathways that can get you where you want to go – and we’ll help guide you through the process.
Yes. Entry to the program is based on your Year 11 results and soft skills – not your ATAR. Whether you’re getting an ATAR or not, you can apply for the Charles Sturt Advantage if you meet the above requirements.
Yes, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve met all course entry requirements to begin study. Check your course entry requirements online for more information. These can include things like a minimum English language proficiency, work placement etc.
While there isn’t a limit on places in the Charles Sturt Advantage, some of our most competitive courses may have limits on the number of offers made via the program. So it’s important that you submit a strong application.

If you don’t receive an offer based on your first preference, we’ll consider your second and third preferences. So, make sure you select three course preferences.
Don’t stress! There are other ways to get into uni. You’ll still be considered for entry to Charles Sturt via the normal UAC/VTAC process during other rounds.
Yes. You can defer if your course normally allows for deferrals (this is the case for almost all of our undergrad courses).
Almost all offers are firm offers, which means all you need to do is complete year 12. We sometimes give a small amount of conditional offers to some of our most competitive courses.
If you receive a conditional offer, you will need to receive a certain ATAR to accept your offer.
