Try Microsoft AI Builder in 2022!

WHAT IS AI BUILDER?

It’s a new year, so what better way to start it out than with some AI? After all, AI is designed to improve our lives. Specifically, let’s talk about Microsoft’s AI Builder. If you’re not already familiar with AI Builder, I previously blogged about it in the beginning of 2021 here.  To recap, AI Builder is a service that’s part of the Microsoft Power Platform that allows organizations to predict outcomes and improve business performance. It’s also a code-less solution, so your admins, business analysts and super users can easily get started with it.

FEATURES NOW AVAILABLE

This past year, many of the features in preview are now generally available and ready to be used in your Production orgs.  Specifically, some of these include:

  • Receipt processing
    • Users can take photos of receipts or upload existing images of receipts previously scanned. AI Builder can then extract relevant data from those receipts to be used in your Dynamics 365 organization.
  • Pre-defined prediction models
    • Binary prediction
      • This type of prediction model answers business questions that have two possible outcomes (e.g. yes/no, on-time/late, etc.).  For example:
        • Are deliveries in region A likely to be on time?
        • Is a customer a good candidate for product A?
        • Is a customer likely to reach out for assistance after delivery of a solution?
        • Is a customer a good candidate for a marketing initiative?
    • Multiple outcome prediction
      • This type of prediction model answers business questions with a list of possible outcomes.  For example:
        • Are deliveries in region A likely to arrive early, on-time, late or very late?
        • Which product would a customer be a good candidate for?
        • Which marketing initiative would a customer be a good candidate for?
    • Numerical prediction
      • This type of prediction model answers business questions with a numerical answer.  For example:
        • How many days will a delivery to region A take?
        • How many work orders will a customer submit for a new product?
        • How many leads should we qualify in a month to meet our quota?
