From Mihir “Mark” Pankaj
I want to first thank God and my Family. This has been a tough time for us as my Father has been in and out of the hospital the greater part of the last month and a half of this campaign. I’d like to dedicate this campaign to my Family, in particular, my Father and daughter. My Father embodies the spirit of Paris, and his will to fight has empowered me to continue to fight all the way to the last seconds of this election. I ran for Council with the thought of my daughter in the back of my head, because she represents the future of this community. We have to focus on getting better as a community today, so tomorrow’s generation has an opportunity to take the ball and run and succeed.
I would also like to thank my opponent, Jame O’Bryan for being a good opponent, and it takes a lot of courage to want to run for City Council, and I appreciate that about him. There were a lot of folks that were instrumental in the success of this campaign; and I just want to thank everyone that helped to achieve this goal. This was a team effort; a community effort.
The results of the election are truly a win for the citizens of Paris, the future generations, small businesses and industry, and Main Street. This was a vote for a better tomorrow, and a better Paris. I’m very appreciative and humbled by the support this community has shown me, and look forward to translating that right back to our community. I look forward to working hard for District 4 and all the citizens of Paris.
