FIRST STAGE OF WORKS NEARLY COMPLETE

The first stage of works at the Wanneroo Road and Joondalup Drive intersection is approaching completion.

Since early 2019, construction crews have been working at the intersection preparing the area to build the new bridge and roundabout.

Stage One works have included:

· More than 4000 pot holes indicating underground services

· Drainage upgrade and relocation

· Kerbs, pavement and vegetation clearing

· Constructing new pavement - laying asphalt, kerbing and linemarking

· Western Power works to install underground powerlines and new poles

Crews will now be working seven days a week, including the public holiday on Thursday 25 April, to complete Stage One prior to a weekend intersection closure late in May / early June 2019.

Works will be undertaken at the Wanneroo Road and Joondalup Drive intersection between 10am and 5pm on Thursday 25 April 2019 as well as between 9am and 6pm on Sundays from 28 April to 9 June 2019.

Working the extra days are essential to ensure the program continues to run according to schedule.

Works undertaken will include new road construction on all four corners of the intersection, in the areas shaded on the map.

This will involve laying sand, limestone, road base and then asphalt.
