CRA Investigates How Job Quality
Impacts Workforce Engagement

In February, EDC’s Center for Regional Analysis (CRA) released early research it has conducted, convening two roundtables of local thought leaders to discuss its findings. The research, which modeled a Federal Reserve of New York analysis at a regional level, examines job quality, the distribution of levels of job quality throughout the Central PA region and the prevalence of turnover by job quality level. The research and the discussions at the two roundtables offer both the business and public policy communities opportunities to better inform decision making both in the workforce development system and for individual employers’ retention strategies. EDC Staff Updates Commercial & Industrial Brokers
Lyle Hosler, EDC's Vice President, spoke at Commercial & Industrial Council's March meeting.  The host venue was The Holiday Inn Lancaster and the featured topic was the hotel's financing package.  EDC Finance, along with several other community partners and banks, assisted in the financing of the renovation of the hotel located at N. Queen & E. Chestnut Streets.  Pictured above is Lyle speaking to the group in the hotel's Imperial Blue room.

April's Commerical & Industrial Council meeting will feature another EDC staff member.  Ezra Rothman, Manager, Economic Development Strategies, will speak to the group about EDC's efforts to support growth in Lancaster's boroughs

Refreshing Mountain Dining Room
Repeat EDC Finance Borrower Attains PIDA Loan
 
Refreshing Mountain Camp, an EDC member company and three-peat EDC Finance borrower, was recently approved for a PIDA tourism loan.  The loan proceeds went towards the remodeling of a dining hall (pictured above), construction of a climbing tower, and the expansion of a horse barn.

Refreshing Mountain is a year-round retreat and adventure center providing family friendly fun and refreshment for over 30 years in Stevens, PA.
