A word from our CEO: Dianne Kitcher

On 15 October, our Board met with the Board of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District to discuss shared priorities and key joint initiatives, as well as identify further opportunities for co-commissioning. A revised version of our Illawarra Shoalhaven Integrated Care Strategy (2018-2020) was also approved, with an update given on its progress to date. Download a copy here.

The ISLHD Board also advised that they have now endorsed the recently finalised Regional Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Strategy. This is a critical initiative developed in collaboration with the two Local Health Districts which aims to deliver a more connected and coordinated approach to mental health care for consumers in our region.

In other news, we are currently seeking proposals from suitably experienced providers for the delivery of the National Psychosocial Support (NPS) initiative across our region. This initiative may include a range of non-clinical psychosocial supports and be provided at an individual or group level, with services to commence from January 2019.

Ideally services should complement or enhance existing services or supports, have a recovery focus, be less intensive and shorter term than existing programs transitioning to the NDIS, with key areas of activity focusing on building capacity and stability based on individual needs. Applications close 15 November at 5pm
