Join Me During Office Hours in Norwalk
Office hours are an opportunity for me to connect with constituents in the communities where they live, work and raise their families. Effectively serving as your voice in the Ohio Statehouse requires, most importantly, my commitment to listening and understanding your concerns. Together, we can develop solutions that make our communities and state better for everyone.
I hope you'll join me tomorrow, August 16, 2017 at the Norwalk Public Library to share what's on your mind. If you're unable to attend but have immediate concerns, please contact my office by phone at (614) 644-7613 or by e-mail at

Starting School After Labor Day
As a mother and retired school teacher, I share the concerns of many parents, educators and students about the unbearable conditions of many of our local school buildings during the hot summer months. Extreme heat is particularly problematic in schools without air conditioning. That is why I have authored legislation encouraging discussion at the local level for determining the best start dates for our schools.

Ohio State's Buckeye Bus Tour
Stops at New Horizon Baking Co.
Thank you to our friends at New Horizons Banking Company in Norwalk for being such great hosts as President Michael Drake of The Ohio State University visited the region during this summer's Buckeye Bus Tour.
Small businesses drive Ohio's growing economy. As leaders, it's critically important for us to stay connected with local employers in order to identify and help address their priorities. Workforce challenges, such as the opiate epidemic and demands for skilled labor continue to be among the most pressing issues for small businesses.
Enacting Legislation to Protect Lake Erie
and Ohio's Precious Natural Resources
I was pleased to join state leaders for the governor's ceremonial signing of Senate Bill 2. This legislation is aimed at protecting Lake Erie and ensuring that Ohioans have access to safe drinking water.
Honoring Lorain County Historical Society Leader for 18 Years of Service
As a State Senator, it is my honor to represent the people of Lorain County—a community with a rich history and vibrant future. I am deeply grateful for the efforts of Bill Bird, president of the Lorain County Historical Society, and for all he has accomplished in highlighting this remarkable community throughout his career. I recently had the opportunity to present him with a resolution on behalf of the Ohio Senate, officially recognizing his contributions to the Lorain County community over the last 18 years.
